so TONS of people ask me about my favorite products, and I have very strong opinions about a lot of them, so I am going to share them here!
so clearly my first favorite thing (sorry Oprah) has to be a doozy..
enter (drum roll please)
THE REMINGTON WET 2 STRAIGHT HAIR STRAIGHTENER!
I bought this little beauty a few years ago after a friend recommended it to me and it has changed my life! I got it for $20-30 at Walgreens and it has been the best money I have ever spent. As I said, I have had it for several years, and it still works like a charm...
Through the years I have tried just about every hair straightening product (in and above my budget) and this is fair and away the best. It has 15 different heat settings, so you can use it on soaking wet, damp or whickety whack dry hair without causing damage. I know many people are hesitant to use heat on wet hair BUT let me assure you, this is not an issue here. This product uses the steam to seal the cuticle of the hair, protecting it from damage and preventing frizz. I straighten my hair and it lasts for several days with no frizz, even after a workout (on the odd occasion i decide to workout that is). My new hairdresser even noted the lack of damage to my hair- she was shocked that I used a straightener because there was no evidence of it. I also have color treated hair so if I damaged it, it would be VERY obvious...
a few things tho...
* don't be afraid when the straightener appears to be smoking...there are vents on the top of the device, and it is actually STEAM not smoke- remember the steam that seals the cuticle?
* your hair will get very hot so watch your hands
*as with any product, start with the lowest setting then up the intensity for the desired effect to minimize damage...(or just do what i do and go to the highest setting all the time and pray)
